Tour de Tulsa has been cancelled for 2020

... but you can Ride your own Tour de Tulsa, and we encourage you to do so!  As you might have anticipated considering CDC guidance for cancelation of gatherings of 10 or more, the Tulsa Bicycle Club and Pathways to Health have made the difficult decision to cancel the Tour de Tulsa for 2020.

That said, we encourage you to mark your calendar for May 1, 2021 for the next Tour de Tulsa and we encourage you to Ride your own Tour de Tulsa this year!  Grab a map from the Tour de Tulsa web page or select a route of your own and get out in the fresh air and ride.  Won't be quite the same as having the Tour de Tulsa's great rest stops and support, but you'll feel better for having gotten out and gotten the exercise.

And don't forget that our co-host, Pathways to Health, continues to promote health and wellness in the Tulsa community.  Our presenting sponsor, Ascension | St John, has agreed to honor their $10,000 donation to Pathways to Health in 2020.  Consider following their lead and making a direct donation to Pathways to Health so that they can continue their work in 2020.

Make a donation now to Pathways to Health:  Donate now to Pathways to Health

Thanks also to our great community supporters without whom the ride could not occur.  Our local bike shop supporters include Tom's Bicycles, T-Town Bicycles, and Spoke House Bicycles and our communications and sag support is provided by the Tulsa Amateur Radio Club.  Many of our local bike shops remain open during the coronavirus outbreak, so don't forget to patronize them for maintenance and supplies during these uncertain times.  The Tulsa Amateur Radio Club is a long-time Tour de Tulsa partner and they support a number of other Tulsa area bicycling events as well.

So, pick a route from the Tour de Tulsa website or design a route of your own and Ride your own Tour de Tulsa.  Tell us about your ride on our facebook page.  And be well!

All Tulsa Bicycle Club group rides are being cancelled for the next 8 weeks through May 9th in accordance with current CDC recommendations related to the Covid-19 virus and group gatherings.

Friends, the Executive Board of the Tulsa Bicycle Club has made the difficult decision to cancel ALL Club rides and gatherings for at least the next 8 weeks, through May 9th, as suggested in the most recent CDC guidance.

This includes ...
Club General Meetings,
The Annual Lasagna Ride,

Tuesday/Thursday morning rides,
Tuesday Evening rides,
Saturday morning rides,
Mohawk Leisurely Saturday morning rides, and
Self-supported Overnight rides.

Registration for the Tour de Tulsa has also been paused and a determination will be made next week regarding whether the ride will simply be cancelled or if we'll try to reschedule at another time.

Please share the news with your friends and refer to the Club web and Facebook pages for additional information and updates.

The health, safety, and welfare of our Tusla Bicycle Club members and the Tulsa cycling community is our highest priority.

Gary Pereschuk, president
