To get to Beggs…

Hwy 75 South

Right (west) on Hwy 16/Alt 75 for 4-5 miles

Just past the railroad overpass, turn right on Broadway.

Parking is at the First Baptist Church on Osage between Main and 5thStreet.

When you enter Beggs, turn right off of Hwy 16/75 Alternate onto Broadway.
Then turn left at first stop sign, which is Main Street.
Next, turn right onto Osage, this is the first right turn off Main.
Park in the lot to your immediate left at the north end of the lot; furthest from Main Street.
This lot is just east of the McClendon/Winters Funeral Home. The Funeral Home uses this lot.
The First Baptist Pastor Gore gave us permission to park here.

Tour is 20.4 miles each direction.

Reasonable roads until you enter Dripping Springs Sark, then very steep.  Walking is okay.  Dripping Springs is a popular fishing lake.  On Highway 16 keep some room between bikes so vehicles don’t have to pass a string of a dozen bikes while pulling a boat.

Dripping Springs States Park Red Oak Campground

All sites are first come, first serve.  None can be reserved.  No 2-day minimum.

RV sites (electric/water) $20.

Tent sites $12 per tent.  No water or electricity.

Can put a number of tents on a site.  Cost is by tent.

Red Oak Campground is first right past the General Store.

General store has canned chili, Gatorade, crackers, and not much more.  Ice $3.00

Restrooms have two showers each.

Restaurants:  We will stop for lunch in Okmulgee on way to campground.  Meet up at 6thand Oklahoma.  The restaurants are to the right (East).  Kirby’s is .3-miles, Sonic is 1.0 miles.  Mexican and one other on town square.  On Sunday, if you want a restaurant, Sonic and Steak and Eggs (1 mile) are the only restaurants open Sunday until 11-12.
